It Is Finished!!!
Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
On Saturday, December 31st I will be received into the Orthodox Church in the afternoon before Vespers. I realize that the words “It Is Finished” are not really the case, as my journey is entering a new phase. But what is finished is my road TO the Church. It has been exciting to this point, and I can’t wait to see what is in store, even though I know trials await me (Hebrews 10:32-39). I have enjoyed sharing this portion of the journey here, and look forward to sharing reflections as I continue. What a way to ring in 2012, eh?
Happy New Year!
Welcome! Although it seems odd to say “welcome” to someone who has been here for some time now, and has taught some of us who have been here a little longer more about the faith…
Thank you everyone for the encouraging comments! It will be nice to be Home (Little more than 24 hours left now)
@kempisosha, To read that you have learned something about the faith through these reflections is very humbling. This blog has mainly been an exercise in trying to sort out my understanding of things as I learn them. Mostly I feel like I’m rambling. Thank you for your kind welcome.
@ Randi, Hope to see you there
@Susan, Thank you for your prayers. You and your family have been a great encouragement to me and my journey.
@apostolcornel, Glory to Him indeed! Welcome to the blog. I hope you will share some input.
Glory to God for all things! I am looking forward to your baptism! Welcome to the Church, Jeremiah.
Your sister in Christ, Randi
I am very happy for you, Jeremiah. You and your family have been in my prayers. May God grant you many blessed years, and may you choose to serve him and your neighbors each and every day throughout those many blessed years!
Blessings, Mrs. Deane :O)
Glory to God for all things! I just discovered your blog.
This is perhaps a very belated “welcome”, but welcome!
I vividly remember feeling like “it is finished” too. I waited for my baptism for what felt like an eternity… and I think the wait made me all the more thankful that I was finally initiated into the Church’s mysteries. Just like you, I also couldn’t wait to see what God had in store.
I hope and pray you will keep your zeal for years to come!
Thank you Matushka Constantina,
Sorry for my slow reply. Things have been busy around here. I pray God continues to give me a godly zeal for Him and the things of His Church.
I look forward to reading your blog. Monastic wisdom is such an anchor for those of us who are called to follow “out here”.
Thanks again for stopping by. I really need to post more…
