To a year that has brought me closer to entering the Orthodox Church, I bid farewell. In comes the year I hope to ACTUALLY enter the Orthodox Church.

The general theme I title a post after, is Lord of the Rings, and how my topic relates to it. Usually it's a stretch, but most Tolkien themes seem to be non-canonically Orthodox. (I mean that tongue-in-cheek, of course.) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it.
That header picture is the Bixby Bridge south of Carmel, CA on HWY 1 (Pacific Coast Hwy). I think it captures the theme of a journey, the bridge being my starting point towards Orthodoxy. I actually used to work in that area as a fireman. At the end of last year I was on that cliff, putting a deceased motorcyclist into a bag to be lifted out by helicopter. I was in my transition into Orthodoxy, and prayed for his soul. It was the first time I prayed for the departed.

Do i know You? i went to ccbc also since then have discovered the beauty and richness of the Orthodox faith. i’ve been Orthodox for a little over 5 yrs now, grateful for having gone to ccbc, and also grateful to have come into the fulness of the faith within the Orthodox Church.
